Mottram St Andrew is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 census, the village has a population of 629 people.[1] It is an affluent village set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. It is located within the Golden Triangle of Alderley Edge, Prestbury and Wilmslow, being just a few miles from each and 15 miles from Manchester.
The parish contains Mottram Hall, nowadays a hotel and golfing centre.
In recent years, the village and its environs have proved to be popular with high profile sportsmen residents including footballers Peter Crouch[2], Wayne Rooney, Owen Hargreaves, Mark Hughes, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli[3], and cricketer Andrew Flintoff.
